The Don Cesar Hotel - St. Pete Must Visit Spot

The Don CeSar Hotel

Saint Petersburg must-visit and dreamy resort

So you have a weekend to spare and you’re wanting some sunshine, well friends if you’re making the trip to St. Petersburg or Tampa then stopping by The Don CeSar Hotel is a must! As soon as you cross the bridge into St. Petersburg, you’ll spot The Don CeSar Hotel and its pink glory from miles away.

While we were not overnight guests at The Don CeSar Hotel, we did spend the day exploring the resort for a media event. After a day filled with sunshine and flamingos, we knew it was time to book our next weekend getaway.

THINGS TO DO AT THE DON CESAR

When you walk outside you’re greeted by two large pools that overlook a white sand beach. The pools are lined with palm trees, pink and white pool towels and you instantly feel like you’ve gone back in time. There is an indoor bar and a few restaurants on-site, including a retro ice cream shop - creating the ultimate resort environment.

The beach is lined with chairs and cabanas that are complimentary for guests and there always seems to be some sort of event taking place at The Don CeSar.

THE ROOMS

We spent a few hours in the luxury two doubles room, which was also lined with flamingos and palm tree paintings. I will say that the rooms were a little bit of a tight fit. Thankfully you’ll be spending the majority of your time outside by the pool.

Besides the pool and beach, The Don CeSar also offers free bicycles to ride for a few hours. The bikes come with your stay and are located on the lower level. If you’d like to use one, all you have to do was ask the concierge for the keys to unlock them. These bikes would be perfect to explore St. Petersburg or take out for a quick lunch.

This historic hotel dates back to 1928 when it first opened doors (back then it was way smaller) on the island (St.Pete’s beach) in the Gulf of Mexico. Over the past century numerous Very Important People have stayed there, such as president Franklin Roosevelt, as well as many artist, singers and actors.

The sugary white sands, the beautiful pink color of the Don Cesar, the timeless luxury and a great customer service is what stood out to me the most during our day visit. I can not wait to take Aaron back for a weekend staycation and experience the magic of the Pink Palace together.
