FASTer Way To Fat Loss. What is it? How does it work? Why did I choose it? I'm going to be answering all of these questions in today's blog post!

For the last two years I’ve really struggled with staying consistent when it comes to my diet and let’s just shoot it straight, quarantine did not help either. In May of 2020 I decided enough was enough, not only was I tired of restricting my calories, but I was tired of guessing what worked for my body. So I finally jumped on the FWTFL train and haven’t looked back!

So, what exactly is FASTer Way To Fat Loss?

Well, it’s a program that involves intermittent fasting, carb cycling, and tracking your macros. You have a facebook group with two coaches for accountability and support for questions, daily check-ins, and an entire daily workout program!

I particularly loved the hierarchy of FWTFL. They want you to focus on nailing your macros and nutrition, then getting proper rest, THEN establishing your exercise program.

When you join a FWTFL program one of the biggest things you will love is that it doesn’t involve calorie counting, weighing in (in fact, they don’t want you to weigh yourself AT ALL during the program and they don’t encourage a final weigh in either), or a specific diet. (some coaches require gluten free/dairy free, but my coach gave me the freedom to choose whether that would be for me or not.)

What Does a Typical Day of Eating Look Like?

As far as what my days looked like, I would break my fast at 12 and stop eating by 8pm. I tracked all of my macros in My Fitness Pal, did all of my grocery shopping at Walmart or Giant Eagle, and after a super rough first day or two (I missed carbs so much those first low carb days) it was smooth sailing, easy to stick to, and I absolutely loved it.

Right now I’m in my 8th VIP round of FWTFL and plan to continue on with my daily tracking, intermittent fasting, and carb cycling for the unforeseeable future. If there is anything I’ve learned from yo-yo dieting over the last 4+ years, it’s easier to continue with the goals and “lifestyle” of a program that isn’t restrictive and allows you to continue experiencing life.
