Made in CBUS Trail - Everything You Need To Know

What’s better than shopping local? Shopping local and being automatically entered to win some amazing prizes! This past weekend Aaron and I had the ultimate staycation in downtown Columbus. We kicked off this amazing resturant with a stay at The Hotel LeVeque, dinner at The Keep and ended the weekend with some local shopping in the Short North.

HOTEL LEVEQUE

The Hotel LeVeque has always been a very special place for Aaron & me, it’s not only gorgeous but it’s actually where we spent the night after our wedding. The rooms are breathtaking, the staff goes above and beyond to make your visit enjoyable and is walking distance to some of Columbus’ best kept secrets. An experience at Hotel LeVeque is a dazzling escape. The 149 room boutique hotel stocks it’s rooms with locally curated bath amenities and has a one of a kind star gazing signature turndown service.

THE KEEP

The Keep is a modern French brasserie and bar concept, located right inside The LeVeque tower. The Keep offers the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a romantic evening with your spouse or having drinks with your girlfriends. Regardless of the occasion, The Keep never disappoints!

What we had for dinner:

  • French Onion Soup: they cook this soup for THREE days before serving & it was deliciously savory.

  • Short Rib Poutine: anytime Aaron sees poutine on the menu, he can’t help but order it. Even though this dish was listed under appetizers, it was definitely big enough to have as your main dish.

  • Chicken Pot Pie: Aaron had this as his main dish and it was so delicious! The crust was flaky and the salad that came with it was amazing!

  • Cuban Sandwich: this was my main dish and let me tell you, I’m still dreaming about it! The sandwich was a classic Cuban and the fries were UNREAL.

ABOUT THE CBUS TRAIL

If there’s one thing everyone who visits Columbus can agree on, it’s that we take pride in the wealth of locally owned businesses, restaurants, shopping and attractions all across the city. When you visit Columbus it’s impossible to not enjoy one of our our top-rated distilleries, buy some locally designed clothing and eat some of the most delicious food you’ve ever tasted.

This month Experience Columbus has curated a collection of local makers that they call the, Made in Cbus Trail. The Cbus trail is here to help guide you to some of the best stores, restaurants & distilleries throughout the Short North, German Village and Clintonville. Each store that is participating in the Cbus Trail will be included in a booklet that you can pick up at Experience Columbus. All of the stores also have little decals on the front of their store that makes it easy to indicate which stores are apart of the trail.

Where we shopped:

  • Candle Lab

  • Homage

  • Red Giraffe Designs

  • Tigertree

As a special thank you for shopping local this month, when you shop at any four shops, you earn a free Made in Cbus tote bag to commemorate your visit.

During December 2019, everyone who completes the trail will be entered to win gift cards from many of the participating businesses and the grand prize of a night’s stay at the Hotel LeVeque! Winners will be notified in January 2020.

We had the best time shopping and experiencing all that our city has to offer! If you’re looking to get away before all of the holiday craziness or snag an unique gift for someone on your list, head on over to Experience Columbus to start planning!
